Horseback riding
in the Desert Southwest

Nestled in the foothills of South Mountain Park in Phoenix, Arizona, Ponderosa Stables and South Mountain Stables have provided horseback riding to the public for over 20 years. With over 40 miles of trails covering 18,500 acres, South Mountain Park is renowned as the largest municipal park in the world. This historic desert mountain preserve is an extremely popular Arizona attraction, ranking second to the Grand Canyon based on the number of visitors each year. If you want to experience the natural beauty and environment of the Desert Southwest, don't just admire the view from the confinement of your car.... Get out, get on a horse, and take a ride with us. Explore the "Old West" as the cowboys still do . . . You'll always remember your close encounter with native plant and animal species, some found only in Arizona's Sonoran Desert
