With over 40 miles of trails covering 18,500 acres, South Mountain Park is renowned as the largest municipal park in the world. This historic desert mountain preserve is an extremely popular Arizona attraction, ranking second to the Grand Canyon based on the number of visitors each year. 		Choose from either of our two stables: Ponderosa Stables or South Mountain Stables. See Map Trail Rides: Guided tours for riders of all levels of experience, from 1 to 8 hours. Breakfast Rides: Enjoy a hearty breakfast cooked "the cowboy way." Cookout Rides: Choose from our hamburger/hot dog or steak/chicken cookout rides for your group's next outing. T-Bone Steak House Rides: Join our popular sunset ride to the rustic T-Bone Steak House for an award-winning meal, followed by a relaxing return after dark. Ideas for Group Events/Outings: Our location is the perfect setting for any occasion that you'd like to make memorable. Here are a few things you might consider. Hay Wagon Rides: Join your friends or family on a good old-fashioned hay ride! Riding Lessons: Hands-on instruction in riding techniques and horse care, provided by our experienced staff.

During the summer season we have a limited supply of horses, and we try hard to accommodate as many riders as we can but you must call ahead to verify availability of rides.

Directions to the Stables South Mountain Stables is located just before Ponderosa Stables From I-17S: Exit 7th Ave./Central, stay on Frontage Road to Central, turn right (south). From I-10: Exit 7th Ave. or 7th St., south to Baseline Road, east (if on 7th Ave.) or west (if on 7th St.) on Baseline to Central, south on Central. From I-10 W (from Tucson): Exit Baseline Road, turn left (west), go to Central, turn left (south). From I-10 E or W (east of airport): Exit Baseline Road, west (right if I-10 E, left if I-10 W) on Baseline to Central, turn left (south). From Squaw Peak Parkway South: Exit I-10 E (to Tucson), exit I-17N (to Flagstaff), exit 7th Street/Central, stay on Frontage Road to Central, turn left (south). From Superstition Freeway West: Exit I-10 E (to Tucson), exit Baseline Road, turn right (west), go to Central, turn left (south).
